Tooth Whitening

We offer 2 different treatment methods to whiten teeth. They all achieve the same result. For all the treatments the colour is stable for 12 to 24 months before a top up is required.

None of the procedures can lighten the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers and some people's teeth whiten more than others. All of the procedures may result in some temperature sensitivity for a few days afterwards. We can treat this easily with Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste, Colgate Neutrafluor gel or GC Tooth Mousse.

There are many reasons as to why people's teeth discolour including: age, particular foods, red wine, tea or coffee.

People's teeth have a "maximum tooth whitening potential" which means that their teeth will only achieve a certain degree of whiteness and that no matter how much longer you continue with whitening treatment, the teeth will stay the same colour. You can achieve the maximum tooth whitening potential with any of the following products:-

Overnight Home Whitening-this treatment involves making moulds of your mouth to make customized mouthguards which are placed over the top and bottom teeth with a gel for up to 2 weeks every night  to achieve the "maximum tooth whitening potential".

The kit is supplied with enough gel for the average case which is 3-5 nights.

Day time Home Whitening- this treatment is similar to the overnight treatment except that the mouthguards are worn for 30-60 minutes in the morning and/or evening for up to 6 weeks to achieve the "maximum tooth whitening potential".

The kit is supplied with syringes of gel which is enough for 18 applications in an average month.
